Every parent fears lice every time their child tells them that their scalp is itching. Lice are very annoying and difficult to remove.

  They are obligate parasites, living externally on warm-blooded hosts which include every species of bird and mammal. They are most common in children who get them at school, but adults can get infested as well. Lice are not dangerous, but they are very annoying and can cause inflammation on the scalp.

They can easily multiply out of control and cause serious infections which need time to clear up. There are many lice shampoos on the market that promise results, but they are often not effective and may cause adverse side-effects. Lice combs are popular as well, but you can sometimes comb for hours without results. This is why it’s best to prepare the following homemade remedy that will eliminate the lice naturally and without side-effects:

Preparation : Wash your child’s head with Listerine, then wrap it with a shower cap and leave it to work for 60 minutes. Remove the shower cap afterwards, then wash your child’s hair with white vinegar and cover with the shower cap again for 60 minutes. Remove the cap afterwards and shampoo your child’s hair as usual, then comb the hair with a lice comb. The vinegar will destroy the lice eggs, while the smell of Listerine will keep the critters from coming back. The entire treatment will take a couple of hours, but it will be worth it.
